These are liner switches – therefore not quite the type I like. I seized the opportunities and bought the quantity I could (150). It was until a couple of month ago I was notified that The Key Company had them on sale. Getting them was another story – apparently they are hard to find. And since this was one of the early videos I watch when I first got interested in mechanical keyboards, I naturally got very curious about them. I have watched the video for a while but I believe the Tangerine switches were one of the favorites. ![]() I first heard about the Tangerine switches in a Linus Tech Tips video about mechanical keyboard switches. The price is pretty reasonable – so I cannot make that direct comparison with other keyboard makers such as Ducky or even Drop. ![]() For that key position I left the Gateron Brown switch in place. I am not entirely convinced but it is what it is. After contacted Keychron I learned that the “~” key sits right above the USB-C connector therefore no room for the 5-pin socket. That comes in the next section about the switches). When I was installing the new switch into the “~” key position, I felt some resistance and thought it might have due to the switches (yes – I need to complain about the switches, too. The only negative is the last point above. I am overall pretty happy about this keyboard. The switch choices are pretty limited – therefore I chose the hot-swappable version so that I can change them out later. Switch options are Gateron Red, Blue or Brown. And one could choose between plastic or aluminum frame. The backlight options are white or RGB LEDs. There are several variants or options for K4 keyboards. Except for the “~” key near the upper left corner.
